According to Rockstar art director Aaron Garbut, Rockstar couldn’t fit all of the plans they had for Grand Theft Auto V. In a recent interview with Edge magainze, Aaron discusses why Rockstar struggled to fit all of their ideas in time for GTAV’s launch.
He said, “As a group of people, we’re never short of ideas. There are always things that come up during development that you want to add. Often we do, but the closer you get to release, the less that happens. I don’t feel like the game felt short, but there is undoubtedly a huge volume of plans and ideas that we wanted to do to push it further.”
However, the exclusion of these ideas didn’t effect the success of GTAV. With a record-breaking budget of two-hundred and sixty five million dollars, Grand Theft Auto V was able to garner over one-billion dollars in sales in a mere three days.
Grand Theft Auto V launched September 17, 2013. It’s available for Xbox 360 and PS3. A PC version is expected to be released this year.
