After several years of teasing, Nintendo finally revealed their newest installment to the The Legend Of Zelda series at this year’s E3. On June 10, 2014, Nintendo unveiled Zelda Wii U along with their approach to the next generation action adventure game. With a less linear and more open world focus mentioned, it seems Nintendo is creating the Zelda game that Nintendo fans have been waiting anxiously for. Perhaps Nintendo has seen the success of open world games such as Grand Theft Auto V, Skyrim, Fallout and innovating their iconic franchise as a result.
In addition to Nintendo’s new open world approach , it seems multiplayer can be a possibility as well. In a recent Game Informer interview, Legend Of Zelda Producer Eiji Aonuma said, “The two-player functionality of Hyrule Warriors is actually something that has traditionally been done in the Dynasty Warriors series, but they’ve changed because of the hardware and the second screen on your GamePad.” Instead of having a splitscreen on the television, you have one-player playing on the television and one on the GamePad. When I was talking back about making Zelda more than just a single-player experience? That’s something you will see in the future, maybe next year.”
You can cop a Wii U now, Super Smash Bros. Wii U this winter, and The Legend Of Zelda Wii-U next year.
